About Philip Diprose

I have a well-developed ability to research and understand complex material (such as scientific papers) and to summarise scientific achievements in plain English, readily understandable to a lay audience. As well, I have several years' experience in drafting (with the aid of professional teams) project appraisal, design and evaluation documents in areas as diverse as fish farming, brown coal mining, microelectronics, oceanography and food technology. As a secretariat, I drafted Australia's Marine Science & Technology Plan, the Review of Marine Research in Tropical Australia and the Review of the Prime Minister's Prizes for Science. I have written an extensive review of the Australian Government's Science Connections Program (SCOPE). I have also developed profiles of some of our high-achieving scientists and science teachers, for use in Government publications and briefings.
