About Philip Emmott

I grew up on a 60-cow dairy farm in Brant County, where “vacation” meant baling hay and “sleeping in” meant 6:30 a.m. Agriculture taught me the value of hard work, resilience, and how to fix just about anything with baler twine and duct tape. That upbringing led me to the Ontario Agricultural College at the University of Guelph, and from there, I’ve followed a path that blends agronomy, finance, leadership, and a lot of muddy boots. My journey has taken me through agricultural finance, commercial banking, crop nutrition, and now into the heart of seed and crop protection. I’ve held leadership roles with DuPont Crop Protection, Corteva Agriscience, and Pioneer Seeds Canada, where I help growers and agri-retail partners across Ontario turn opportunity into outcomes. Whether it’s launching sales initiatives, navigating tough agronomic seasons, or growing agency business, I believe in coaching over commanding and relationships over transactions. My passion lies in helping others succeed — whether it’s a teammate chasing their next milestone, a grower looking to make the right seed decision, or a young athlete learning how to track a fly ball without tracking it with their face. Outside the office, you’ll find me coaching my daughters’ softball team, where I specialize in third-base signals, post-game snacks, and life lessons wrapped in glove leather. I’m also proud to serve on the boards of Certified Crop Advisors Ontario, the Ontario Agricultural College Alumni Association, and AgScape, where I get to pay it forward to the industry and community that’s shaped so much of my life. At the end of the day, I’m here to grow good things — crops, people, businesses, and hopefully some decent base runners.
