Background
About Philip Falvo
Please do not contact me about services as I do not make those decisions for my organization.I am an expert manager, researcher, and problem solver. I am best described as results-oriented and focused on improving efficiency and effectiveness. My passions include public policy research and advocacy.Throughout my career, I have developed an extensive and refined skill set. I have conducted and supervised research in areas including state and local government operations, intergovernmental cooperation, elections, procurement, pensions, healthcare, Medicare, Medicaid, insurance, human services, aging services, crime, sentencing, judicial procedure, the judiciary and the courts, liquor control, veterans’ affairs and emergency preparedness and gaming oversight.I have had many roles in my career-researcher, writer, presenter, manager, trainer, facilitator, and strategist. As a result, I have a diverse skillset that has permitted me to manage multi-disciplinary projects involving complex subject matter and to provide common sense solutions to complicated problems. However, actual experience has taught me the following- Active listening skills are paramount to effective communication-There are times that fires need to be stoked rather than extinguished-Effective change is the result of efficient implementation-Social media is a tool when used correctly and a weapon when used improperly-Good public policy provides answers AND raises additional questions-“I don’t know; let me get back to you” is the best response to a question for which I do not have the correct answer-A good leader stands out front; a great leader gives others the opportunity to do the same-My team is not as strong as its weakest link; it is strong once I identify and utilize the strengths of its weakest link.I love making new professional acquaintances. Contact me if you want to discuss public policy, staff development, issue advocacy, politics, or football.
