About Philip Fiacco

I possess more than 30+ years of progressive experience in the Risk Management and Health, Safety and Security field. My professional history includes positions as Director of Campus Safety and Emergency Management at Paul Smith’s College as well as Fire/Safety Officer with the New York State Department of Correctional Services. As a DOCS Fire/Safety Officer I was responsible for the entire facility Fire/Safety program including conducting fire code inspections and risk assessments while working closely with all of the correctional facility’s departments to insure corrective actions were taken for any violations or health safety hazards found. While working with DOCS at the Albany Training Academy I was responsible for reviewing accident and injury reports and developing training and inspection programs for use by the entire correctional services system. Most recently as the Director of Campus Safety and Emergency Management I have been responsible for supervising an office of 22 professional security and workplace safety staff including student work studies. I have developed policies and procedures to provide the campus community with a safe and secure environment to achieve their stated goals. I developed a campus fire safety and workplace safety program that includes providing expert advice on building and fire code issues and workplace safety OSHA compliance issues related higher education. In my emergency management role I have developed a comprehensive All Hazard Emergency Management Plan that has been tested by the college. I have developed and implemented a recent full scale exercise involving many supporting outside agencies. I am an integral member of the college risk management team and I am a central point of contact for submission and review of risk management plans.
