About Philip Psomopoulos
Hi there, I'm Philip. I believe that the fate of our world is deeply tied to the state of our labor conditions. After volunteering for the Bernie Sanders campaign and meeting many others who were not content to simply hope for a better world in isolation, I decided that an important next step was to give my time and energy to local institutions of labor. After a two year long journey that included moving countries, I'm proud to say I was hired as the lead member organizer at CUPE 2278 for their Organize UBC campaign. That chapter involved helping those student workers fight for the kind of dignified living we all deserve, and saw the successful filing of two different working groups representing over workers. Now, I'm working towards a more equitable vision of life and work in the city of Vancouver with the Union Cooperative Initiative.
