About Philip Puls

Through various positions in technical and disciplinary responsibility as well as management, where I was able to get to know international contacts and places as well as cultures and mentalities, I am now in global business and service responsibility for ‚regulated services for vehicles‘ (from Type Approval, Individual Vehicle Approvals, PTI until scrapping). We must recognize the value of our actions in terms of the corporate mission and the relevance for us. It is not enough to recite the vision or mission. It is not enough to have read the management manuals or leadership guidelines, but one must also perceive and recognize the significance of these values for oneself. One must check "orders" for bindingness and legality. So the superior only specifies the goal. One must have the freedom in the sense of "leading with orders" to change the way to this goal, to find alternatives, to be creative. The supervisor, in turn, must check, in the sense of his leadership supervision, whether the employees are achieving these goals. This involves the issue of error culture. One must also be able to learn without suffering immediate disadvantages from faulty understanding. That is why "leading from the front" is so important to me. Sharing and showing the everyday hardships and deprivations. And so I always act in the intention and in the sense of these principles and try to understand the intention behind specifications/goals in order to always be adaptable and flexible. Additionally for me, the Categorical Imperative is central:"Always act according to the maxim, as you may wish it to become a general law.“ So for me, honesty, responsibility, expertise and authenticity are the basis for profitable collaboration.
