About Philip Ryan

Philip is a co-founder and has been Managing Director of the Trilogy group of companies since inception. This includes Trilogy Funds Management Limited which acts either as trustee or responsible entity for numerous trusts with a key focus of delivering income to its retail, wholesale, and institutional investors. Trilogy has offices in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth and employs a team of approx. 80 people. Trilogy is one of Australia’s leading non-bank lenders to the property construction and development industry. Through the Trilogy Monthly Income Trust and Uselect Trust it funds in the residential area the construction of multi-units, town houses and houses as well as land subdivision projects and more specialised developments in the NDIS space. Additionally, it funds a number of industrial, commercial and retail projects. In aggregate it currently funds over $1B of projects across the eastern seaboard at any time. Trilogy is also the Fund Manager for numerous property trusts in the office, commercial and industrial sectors, including the Trilogy Industrial Property Trust (TIPT). TIPT is open-ended and owns a diverse portfolio of industrial properties in Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia and the Northern Territory with exposure to the mining, manufacturing and logistics industries. Tenants are varied and include Komatsu, Reece Australia, Bega Dairy and Drinks, Downer-EDI, Tempur, Amart Furniture and Stoddard Group. Trilogy also participates in the Capital Markets space through the Trilogy Enhanced Income Fund, which is an open-ended fund with investments offering exposure to Government and Corporate Bonds, Term Deposits and other investments. Through its associated company, MDC Trilogy, Trilogy manages a residential property portfolio of circa 4500 properties (approx.$4B AUM). Trilogy also participates in the venture capital space and has funded investments in areas such as open banking services and others with an ESG or charitable focus. Philip has been a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia for more than 40 years and was previously a partner in a Brisbane Law Firm for 19 years, with experience predominantly in the areas of commercial and corporate law. For the past 25 years he has been the Managing Director for Trilogy, including its predecessor responsible entity. In addition to qualifications in law, he is a fellow of Finsia and has qualifications at a post graduate level in financial services and mortgage lending through Finsia.
