As New vehicle sales margins get tighter and F&I programs are being scrutinized by not only the Lenders but also the educated consumers of today, accessory sales is the only outlet to retain and gain gross profit per unit sold. My approach allows the dealership to stay competitive with the aftermarket installers as well as internet shoppers to keep this revenue source in-house. By implementing the proper procedures, not only has it increased gross profit per unit, it has increased CSI scores and customer retention, which have both been the pushback from the Variable and Fixed departments in the past and no longer can support that argument. Wholesale account marketing and business strategies utilizing shared resources such as delivery trucks, call centers and Outside Wholesale Managers to reduce expenses and increase market share.
