About Philipp Bosselmann

The question how to increase the innovation performance of technology companies in a structured approach - from formulating an innovation strategy until the commercial realization of attractive business opportunities - has fascinated me throughout my professional career. Already during my studies in physics and my PhD thesis in basic research did I analyse complex systems and processes. After my transition to the high technology development in the semiconductor industry, my main focus continued to be on process improvement and process management. After I first got in touch with the Six Sigma methodology in 2004, I took the opportunity to start process improvement Black Belt education to subsequently become a certified Master Black Belt within a period of five years. Applying the methodology knowledge in training, active project support and the analysis of organizational structures and processes, I have designed, established and managed several Business Excellence programs. After working in various parts of the business such as operations, supply chain, procurement and customer service for seven years, my focus then shifted back to research, development and innovation, where I have found that the high potential for profitable organic growth is often not fully utilized. In my role as program manager I can now apply the innovation knowledge that I have gained in R&D and consulting in different companies and industries, for the conceptual design, implementation and management of innovation programs and hence make a measurable contribution to the increase of innovation success.
