About Philipp Johst
As a research associate specialising in the circularity of fibre-reinforced composite materials, I have developed expertise in repurposing composite structures, particularly end-of-life (EoL) wind turbine blades. I have co-authored numerous scientific publications in this field, including several as first author in high-impact journals. Currently, my research focuses on evaluating EoL composite structures after their initial lifecycle to enable reuse by maximising the remaining potential of the materials. Alongside my academic work, I lead the Composite Circularity Lab, where I have gained valuable experience in project acquisition. I am keen to connect with partners interested in advancing circular economy solutions for composites in industries such as wind energy, aerospace and automotive. The goal of our group is to translate scientific insights into practical applications and drive the sustainable transformation of composite material usage.
