About Philipp Tomac

I started my first degree at the TU Munich (beverage technology), but dropped out. The reasons for this were the lack of practice and proximity to fellow students and professors. As a result of this experience, only one university came into consideration as the next step. I chose the Weihenstephan - Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences. Here I completed my bachelor's degree in bioprocess informatics with a grade of 2.0. In addition to the basics of computer science, mathematics, biology and chemistry, I specialised in the field of data science and robotics during my studies. In several projects I developed neural networks with Java (Weka) and Matlab. In addition, I built a small smart factory with two robots and an assembly line. Through these projects I was also able to improve my team skills as well as team leadership. The topic of my bachelor thesis was the implementation of a rule-based system for crop rotation planning in organic farming (with Drools and Java). I completed my practical semester at Audi AG, with a grade of 1.2. Here I could support the project management administratively. In total I worked on two projects: 1. Rollout of a supermarket 2.0 2. Planning of an SAP implementation During my master studies in Computer Science (Machine Learning & Visual Computing) at the University of Applied Sciences in Munich, I worked for one year as a student trainee at Deloitte GmbH in Risk Advisory. I also worked as a student assistant at the Fraunhofer Institute AISEC. Here I developed a UI for displaying data and results of neural networks. Currently I am employed as a master student at Fraunhofer AISEC and working on my thesis. The master thesis deals with the improvement of state of the art methods for semi supervised anomaly detection using generative models like AAE or GANs. I aim to successfully complete my degree in the second quarter of 2021, with an overall grade of 1.6 or better.
