About Philippa Steventon

In the first part of 2023, we will be fulfilling our long held dream of crossing the Atlantic Ocean as a family on board our Bowman 40 sailing boat, Bella. Having left the UK in 2019, we have sailed over miles together via six different countries. See sailingbella.uk for details of our full adventure. Most recently I completed a 9 month contract with Warner Media as Senior National Account Manager looking after Amazon. Prior to our latest sailing adventures, I was Ops Manager and Production Lead for The New Plastics Economy Team at The Ellen MacArthur Foundation. Building a high performing team and organising bi-annual events for over 150 international senior stakeholders across the plastics value chain. Originally, my career began following graduation from Manchester University, where I studied German. I began a corporate sales career at Cadbury’s before moving on to a National Account Manager role at Paramount Pictures. A further move saw me gravitate towards marketing at Warner Brothers. Whilst at Paramount I competed in the 2005/6 Clipper Ventures Round the World Yacht Race. This would later prompt a change of career path resulting in a move to the south coast. Having gained the RYA Yachtmaster Offshore qualification I began working for Ondeck Sailing, a corporate and events sailing company, helping to run their RYA Sailing School and managing the Individual Events including the Atlantic Adventure sailing programme, the Fastnet Campaign and the annual Round the Island Race. After Ondeck went into administration, I took some time to spend with our then very young boys before joining the Ellen MacArthur Foundation.
