About Philippe Couteaux

Philippe Couteaux started his career with Safran as an Engineer at Messier-Bugatti, on Landing Gear, then for Braking systems. In 1994 he participated in the creation of the Franco-British company Messier-Dowty, which later became Safran Landing Systems. Based at the company’s headquarters in England, he was in charge of its marketing and strategy, then moved to Sales and Programs. He joined Snecma in in charge of Testing, and Industrial development, for the Rocket Engine business (later became ArianeGroup) and then of Large Engines programs in the Commercial Engines division (Safran Aircraft Engines). In 2006, Philippe Couteaux took the lead of Sales & Program management at Helicopter Engines at Turbomeca, which became Safran Helicopter Engines. He was promoted to the role of Senior Vice President of the company in 2008, in charge of all business with Aircraft Manufacturers, and also led the company's Strategic Planning. Philippe Couteaux moved to Safran Nacelles in 2015 as Vice-President of Customer Support and Services and MRO, and of the Corporate Strategy, until his appointment in 2017, as Executive Vice President, Sales & Marketing for Safran Aircraft Engines, also covering CFM and PowerJet. In this role, Philippe oversaw a worldwide team of regional sales and marketing leaders representing the company’s products and services to customers, generating proposals and responding to customer requests, owning the Safran, CFM, and PowerJet brands, and executing business growth strategies. In 2023, he was appointed Senior Vice President, Safran Group Strategy and Programs, at the Group’s Corporate headquarters. Philippe Couteaux holds Engineering Degrees from the Ecole Spéciale de Travaux Publics and the Ecole Supérieure des Techniques Aérospatiales.
