About Philippe Dauwe

I graduated in 1998 at the Belgian Royal Military Academy with a Master degree in Military and Aviation Sciences. I started my career as technical officer on Search and Rescue Helicopters on Airbase Coxyde. I returned there in 2012 to be the maintenance squadron leader, with the very specific challenge to ascertain a fluent transition from the SeaKing Mk48 helicopters towards the new NH-90 helicopters.In the period between 2002 and 2008 I was active in the Belgian Defense Staff Transport Aircraft Branch, more specifically as Process and Budget Manager, and later on as Material Manager for the Belgian Commercial Transport Aircraft Fleet (Airbus A-310, Dassault Falcon-900 en Falcon-20, and Embraer ERJ-135/145). In that function, I managed a full retrofit program on the Falcon-20 fleet and I was additionnally engaged in the A400M program as Belgian Representative for Integrated Logistic Support matters. After one year of Superior Officers course at the Belgian Defense College, I rejoined the Defense Staff to be Synthesis Officer to the Systems Division Chief, where I was responsable for preparing the Division Chief's decisions, mainly by creating and updating situational awareness boards and by assuring financial and process integration for all Land, Air, Naval- and Support Systems. I was also member of the implementation team for the introduction of federal accountability of Belgian Defense Material, Systems and Stocks, and I assured the role of secretaryFrom 2015 until 2017, I was Production Manager in the Competence Centre for Aeronautical Equipment, responsable for calibrations of measuring equipment, for non-destructive testing on aircraft structures and for specialized repair and maintenance techniques on electronic systems of the C-130 and the F-16.From 2017 until 2020 I joined Belgian Defense College to give lectures on Logistics in Air Operations to Air Force Officers following Basic Staff Courses and Superior Officers Courses.After my Higher Staff Course (academic year 2020-2021) I was designated as Commander of the Belgian Defense Electromagnetic Warfare Center for a three years period.As from August 2024, I took the post of Maintenance Group Commander in the Belgian Air Transport Wing. In 2019 en 2021 I was also elected to be the spokesman for Belgian Defense on national television during the Military Parade for National Day.
