About Philippe Serhal

I spent eight years at Good Eggs, on a journey from $15M annual revenue to $150M, from negative contribution margin to the best unit economics in the industry. I helped build the software powering this e-commerce business, with its entire supply chain in house – from procurement to last-mile delivery and everything in between. Then, when growth and increased stability demanded that we move on to third-party providers, I helped tear down these systems that had fulfilled over 2M orders and replace them with off-the-shelf enterprise solutions. Later, I proposed & led a new Developer Experience team, lowering cognitive load for 5+ product dev teams, allowing them to focus on solving business problems. I care deeply about the craft of software development. I'm always thinking about minimizing complexity, reducing cognitive load, continuous improvement, tight feedback loops, and of course building great products that actually meet business needs. I constantly propose and lead initiatives that make development teams more effective. I led a company's Standards & Best Practices guild. I led a company's On-Call review process. I authored critical documentation, such as for deploying a new microservice. I maintained and improved an org's Node.js service platform, underlying 20+ services.
