I’m a chartered accountant with significant experience in tax and finance transformation and automation. For most of my career I’ve worked for large consulting firms and corporates on projects across banking, pharma, telecoms, energy/ extraction, engineering and retail/ consumer products. I’m a consultant/ business analyst and project manager with hands-on experience: • Implementing and using robotic process automation (RPA) and data analytics applications and Excel automation. • Managing and acting as BA on innovative web application development projects. • Advising on technology strategy, business process/ operating model optimisation and ERP configuration. I’ve worked on projects involving the following systems: • Automation Anywhere/ Blue Prism RPA, Alteryx ETL, Qlikview/ PowerBI analytics, Oracle Hyperion. • SAP ERP, Oracle ERP, Workday ERP, NetSuite ERP, MS Dynamics ERP, JD Edwards ERP. • Microsoft Azure cloud applications. Other key skills/ experience include: • Personable/ good communicator - experience presenting, running workshops, communicating with senior leadership. • Problem-solving and analytical skills. • Agile and waterfall project management experience. • International tax compliance and reporting experience. Example projects: • Implemented an RPA as a Service process to automate the VAT returns for a client which led to a significant reduction in processing time and greatly reduced risk of error. • Developed the global tax technology strategy for a multinational engineering group which enabled them to understand and prioritise their opportunities and then kick-start implementation. • Interrogated the CapEx transaction data and developed the analysis routine for a large supermarket client that led to a significant saving in capital allowances tax reliefs. • Prepared the firm-wide RPA operating model for a previous employer.
