Background
About Phoebe Britten
Phoebe is a Founder, board director, and international policy advisor driving change at the intersection of gender equality, educational equity, and international human rights. She champions the meaningful inclusion of young people - especially those from marginalised communities - in shaping the decisions that impact their lives and futures. From grassroots advocacy to global governance, Phoebe’s early career reflects a deep commitment to equity and impact. At 19, she founded Inspire Tomorrow Education, a national nonprofit that has delivered over minutes of free tutoring to hundreds of underserved students across Australia. Today, her team is developing the country’s first AI-powered scholarship platform, designed to democratise access to more than $150+ million in education funding. On the international stage, Phoebe serves as one of only eight Young Trade Leaders appointed by the World Trade Organisation (WTO), and was the youngest Australian youth representative to the OECD in 2024, representing the voices of 4.7 million young people in international public policy reform. Her policy work spans organisations such as the United Nations Major Group for Children and Youth, the Global Institute for Women’s Leadership (GIWL), Voices of Influence, with a focus on gender, human rights, youth-led governance, and legal rights for victims of climate displacement in the Asia-Pacific region. Phoebe has been recognised as an AFR Top 100 Future Leader. In 2024, she was the youngest person named as a Top 25 Young Women to Watch in International Affairs. At 20, she has been invited to speak at numerous high-level global events such as UNCSW69, and has delivered a talk on the value of educational equity at the prestigious TEDxSydney Youth. The belief that drives her work is powerful yet simple: that with access to privilege comes the responsibility to create pathways for others and to challenge the systems that entrench inequality. At her core, Phoebe believes true structural reform doesn’t just open doors - it reimagines the systems that keep them closed.
