About Phoebe Brown

Freelance dance artist: performing, choreographing and teaching, Recent projects have included working in Sheffield, London, Kent, Berlin, Coventry, Latvia, Madrid, Sweden for various dance and art projects. Currently studying at the University of Limerick for a PhD in Dance funded by the Irish Research Council. My research is on the potential for creating a perceptible process by investigating the interconnections between differential equations and contemporary dance choreography. I finished an MA in Philosophy at Birkbeck College, University of London in 2016. I graduated in 2014 from the University of Lincoln with a First Class degree in BA (hons) Dance. During my time at University I was lucky enough to receive an award for Outstanding Achievement and Performance in Dance for my graduating year, as well as a published dissertation. In Lincoln I volunteered for various arts companies as a dance teacher, assistant dance teacher, performer, back stage runner and chaperone. In between graduating and pursuing my MA I participated in residencies and intensives across Europe to expand my international dance knowledge and connections. To fund all of this I'm the Finance Coordinator at Artis Foundation, I tutor Mathematics to primary years and teach ballet on the weekends.
