About Phoebe Gibson

I am an ambitious, enthusiastic and self-motivated person who thrives within a creative environment. I enjoy undertaking tasks that challenge and develop my skill set. My experiences put me in a strong position to take on new challenges within the creative industry.Working as a junior sportswear designer for a leading brand in the sector, I create unique, personalised designs for team wear and collections, pushing the boundaries with what can be designed for athletes. Working using predominantly Adobe Illustrator, I am developing my technical knowledge and always looking to learn new techniques. I am most proud of having worked with and produced designs for athletes who have represented their countries on the world stage.I graduated from Loughborough University where I studied Textiles: Innovation and Design. In my final year of studies, I based my research and practical work on looking into sports and activewear, and the application of new materials in this area.During my degree, I took a placement year in industry and spent time at 4 different companies. It was a great year and I particularly enjoyed my time at Bjorn Borg where I saw the full textile product cycle from conception to retail product. I assisted in designing the monthly print designs for the boxer shorts they are well known for, as well as ollaborating with other areas of design such as research and colour palettes. I am proud of the designs I created for them, especially the Pride design for July 2019.During my time at university, I took part in Gymnastics and Cheerleading and was on the committee of gymnastics as the kit secretary and womens captain where I designed the club leotard.Textiles for fashion interest me and is where I am keen to find an opportunity. I am currently looking for a position where I can contribute and learn.
