About Phuong Uzoff

As an educator or over 21 years and a doctoral graduate at Pepperdine University. I have been devoted to enhancing our understanding of and delivery of Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Arts (STEAM) education. I have recently been selected as the 2022 and 2024 State Finalists for the California for the 2022 and 2024 Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST). As a Teach For America Alumni, I have over eight years teaching in underserved communities and believes strongly that all students deserve equitable education, especially concerning science teaching access to technology. I have a great understanding of meeting the needs of disadvantaged students. I have successfully implemented learner-centered strategies and technology in urban school settings. I have a M.A in Elementary Education from Loyola Marymount University and earned a doctoral degree in Learning Technologies from Pepperdine University where I researched the role of science teaching efficacy beliefs to improve STEM education.
