About Phyll Martin Astorga

With over 10 years’ experience in diverse facets of IT, Phyll has provided technical expertise, consulting, support, integration solution and message transformation development in NAB and previously to over 10 ASEAN major financial institutions with focus in Singapore and Malaysia. Recent highlights of projects Phyll had participated include the following- SWIFT Customer Security Programme - Leading the attestation in NAB by reviewing narratives and evidences, closing security gaps and implementation of controls- AU-NPP Consultant - Delivering the NPP solutions, consultancy and training to all major banks and participants in Australia- Manage and lead SWIFT Interface Release 7 Migration project in central institution of Malaysia, and directed the Test Manager in performing functional and compatibility tests with their BO’s and AML infrastructures, which leads to smooth rollout- Instruct over 5 financial institutions in the region, the best practices of Disaster Recover procedures. Built a comprehensive DR infrastructure’s (de)activation plan, and helped by providing technical advises when unexpected circumstances are encountered- Defining troubleshooting procedures in a central institution in Singapore, and has been followed to date. Prior to joining SWIFT, Phyll worked at FircoSoft (Australia), NewGens (Singapore SWIFT avid partner), Critical Software Systems Consultancy and Lane Systems Philippines as a technical consultant and support analyst. Phyll holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science (BSCS) and Master of Science degree in Information Technology (MSIT) from a top ranking University in the Philippines. He was formerly a professor for four years, mentoring thesis groups, and a lead contributor of Technical Research and Development of the institution.
