Phyllis James is a Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) with over twenty five years' experience in nursing education in associate, baccalaureate, and hospital settings. She has expertise in teaching face-to-face, online, and in hybrid modalities. She began her nursing career as an LPN, obtained her associate degree from Holyoke Community College, BSN from Regent's College, MSN from the University of Phoenix, and is currently pursuing a post-master's Adult/Geriatric Nurse Practitioner Certificate. Phyllis believes practice and progression through multiple levels of nursing, offers an invaluable understanding of the scope of nursing practice across the spectrum of healthcare provision. Ms. James's clinical areas of expertise include Emergency and Critical Care Nursing. She has been certified in Emergency Nursing (CEN) and Critical Care (CCRN) and earned the designation of Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) in Adult Critical Care Nursing. Phyllis also served as a Legal Nurse Consultant (CLNC) in her private practice consulting business, functioning as both a consultant and an expert witness. Nursing organization memberships include the National League for Nursing, American Nurses Association, Arizona Nurses Association, American Association of Critical-Care Nurses, and the Emergency Nurses Association. Research areas of interest include health care access inequity and how nurses can close the care gaps.
