There’s something incredibly powerful about watching a child’s eyes light up when they solve a problem on their own. For nearly a decade, I had the privilege of witnessing those moments firsthand as an early childhood educator. Today, in my role as Assistant Principal at Chesterbrook Academy in Naperville, I find the same joy in watching parents’ eyes light up when they see their children meet important developmental milestones. My journey in early childhood education began right out of college as a teaching assistant—a role that, at the time, felt uncertain but full of possibility. With the support of experienced colleagues, I quickly found my footing, developed my skills, and fell in love with the field. Within months, I became a lead teacher, where I discovered my passion for guiding young learners and supporting families through every stage of early development. Now, as I transition into school leadership, I bring with me not only classroom experience but a deep understanding of what children, educators, and families need to thrive. I may be new to the administrative side, but I’m eager to grow in this chapter—leading with empathy, encouraging innovation, and supporting the amazing teams that make high-quality education possible.
