About Pia Petersen

Day to day, I help people design their bathrooms, which involves selecting products and configuring the space to best suit their lifestyle and needs. My time is spent on varying tasks; I am often at job sites measuring up, or at the office creating 3D concept renders and floor plans, quoting products, speaking with plumbers and builders. Establishing the design space at Harrison Bloy along with the sub brand ‘designed by Harrison Bloy’ continues to excite me. I have embraced the opportunity of developing the new role, as the in-house Interior Designer. I enjoy working with clients to bring their visions to life. Helping people realise, and enabling them to visualise the potential of their existing spaces or plans for a new build is always rewarding. With a technical background in Architectural Draughting, my understanding for construction lends itself to a practical design approach. Functionality is key and as important as the beautiful details, high quality products, materials and finishes. Communicating with associated product suppliers is an important and meaningful aspect of my role. I appreciate quality products, and when delivered by reliable brands and sales reps, it makes selling these products very enjoyable. My role has developed to involve Social Media management, brand development, leading design training on computer programmes, and offering support to designers, architects and builders when their clients need to make suitable product selections The Interior Design / Architecture space is ever-evolving, in innovation and sustainability. I enjoy keeping up to date with market trends and the latest products. Finding design solutions and problem solving are strengths of mine, so I am loving making use of my skills as a bathroom designer. Christchurch is great place to be at this stage of my career, I continue to enjoy building professional relationships and connections with people from all aspects of the construction industry.
