About Pich Seekaew
I am a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Epidemiology at Columbia University, focusing on infectious disease epidemiology and implementation science. My primary interest lies in the optimization of HIV prevention and treatment cascades, particularly among men who have sex with men and transgender populations, through community mobilization and differentiated service delivery. I am currently studying the effectiveness of same-day antiretroviral therapy (ART) initiation on ART uptake and viral load suppression. After my Ph.D, I hope to attend medical school and become public health physician-scientist. Prior to my Ph.D, I was a Technical Support Officer at the Thai Red Cross AIDS Research Centre which I led the implementation and scaling up of same-day antiretroviral therapy Initiation in 6 high HIV burden provinces in Thailand, with over participants in the cohort. I also served as Asia Community Working Group Representative on HPTN 083 protocol team, overseeing and providing consultation to Thailand and Vietnam HPTN 083 research sites on community engagement activities.
