About Pien Kuijpers

My vision is to translate design concepts into something that will educate people and make them more conscious about everyday life and our visual culture. As an artist and graphic designer, I am experienced in Adobe software as well as traditional graphic techniques, but my fascination with art history makes me dive into literature and books as well. Next to my graphic design practice, I am an art historian, specialised in modern and contemporary art and non-traditional art forms such as printmaking and photography. My research and projects are consistently interwoven with an inexhaustible focus on female makers and feminist theories and practices. This unique combination of graphic design and art history shapes the way I see and create—reflected in my guiding motto: “Change the way you look at things & the things you look at change.”
