About Pierre Deve

I have developed a strong expertise in the development field in China where I worked for more than 10 years. Based for 5 years in the remote area of the Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, I’ve been responsible for the execution, implementation and evaluation of the latter two programs. I combined providing daily consulting services to local NGOs with the management and implementation of a comprehensive multi year NGO capacity building program in Tibetan areas and in Henan province. I have a strong knowledge of the developmental challenges and problematic of China’s Tibetan urban, rural and nomadic communities. I have become acquainted with Chinese Public health related issues, working with some local groups serving People Living With Aids (PLWA). In 2010, I have played an instrumental role in the management of a coalition of NGOs disaster relief operations after the Yushu earthquake, Qinghai Province. I have developed strong ties and relationships with a vast number of Chinese NGOs and both domestic and international foundations. I have technical expertise in non-profit management issues; I am skilled at proposal writing, program design, performance monitoring and evaluation. I speak Mandarin, and I have a fair knowledge of the Swedish language.
