He holds a Ph.D. in Geomatics since 2012. After completing a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Iowa, USA with a BAEF scholarship, he became holder of the chair of geometric survey of built heritage created at the University of Liège in 2016. He was confirmed in this position in 2019. A specialist in the acquisition and modelling of information relating to built heritage, he is a Belgian expert for ICOMOS and an international representative for digital heritage information. Since 2018, he is Scientific Expert for the International Committee for Architectural Photogrammetry (CIPA). Pierre Hallot is a reviewer for several scientific journals related to heritage. He is currently supervising 4 PhD theses related to mobile and immobile heritage. He is the author of numerous publications in the field. His training in geomatics allows him to have a quantitative and structured approach on the definition of the quality of spatially referenced data. For the last few years, he has participated in the digitisation of significant buildings such as the Cathedral of Liège, Metz and Reims, the Château de Jehay, Franchimont, and more technical elements such as the framework of BOZAR Brussels etc. Since he joined the University, he has notably collaborated with Prof. Billen and obtained several research projects such as the Interreg EMR TerraMosana project, an SPW subention Qualigeo, a service-research contract project CoudenbergSIA, several internal grants at the university VP-NUM, Reims, Metz.
