I believe that Data Science is at the forefront of solving contemporary challenges, ranging from business development to healthcare or even DeFi. Machine Learning brought speech recognition, automated cars, a vastly improved understanding of the human genome. And nowadays Deep Learning helps us navigate complex networks, such as travel schedules or cellular regulatory pathways to identify potent targets for drug discovery. Data Science today is a broad, interdisciplinary fields that integrates principles from computer science, mathematics and statistics in order to predict, manage, mine, visualise and analyse data ranging from genomic sequences to business finances or blockchain transactional networks. The Data Scientist is a valuable asset for multidisciplinary studies. Capable of both working directly with algorithms to develop softwares, tools or websites, and curating datasets to ensure a high level of scientific rigour and the retrieving of relevant information. It is extremely exciting to take part in this “Data Science wave” that is revolutionising many areas of our lives. And for this I am very grateful.
