About Pierre Samson

System, Service and Process Automation is my passion. I've been with BB & T, now Truist for over 10 years and still enjoy the challenges and environment. Got back to school and got a Master degree in CS Information Security and also took classes to learn Spanish. I've been a lumberjack and a Maitre d'hotel. I'm from Quebec City but I've live in the Artic Circle as well as Vancouver, BC and Charleston,SC. I've been to Paris as many times as to San Francisco I guess, and I still can't decide which one I like the most. So, as you can see I sailed into a lot of different waters and winds. I love it all! Member of the IT Production Service Team, my role is to manage and define the processes and tools used to protect business assets from an Enterprise IT Risk Management perspective. I make sure that we provide the appropriate levels of services to other business units and help them use the tools that make them efficient at gathering compliance data and help them mitigate and remediate vulnerabilities and threats. I help define policies and standards and processes related to Information Security and translate these into operational risk assessment procedures. I manage the reporting services related to Audit checks and remediation performed to business units’ management to help them understand the state of their IT assets compliance. I manage the HP-SA ( Opsware ), HP-NA, BSAE and HP-AI environments for BB & T. My CISSP certification helps me perform at the highest level and the Master degree in Information Security that will be complete this spring (2015) allowed me to hone my research skills and Risk Management comprehension. CISSP certification, ITIL foundation certification, Process Master Certification at BB & T, the CQIA from the ASQ. Specialist in System Compliance, IT Processes development, Project Team coordination. High Availability system design, Infrastructure design.
