About Piet Nel

I graduated from the University of Pretoria in 2001 with a degree in Physiotherapy and spent four years in the field, including co-owning and managing a practice. In 2006, I explored new challenges in the building industry, focusing on inspections and project management, followed by a two-year stint in the renewable energy sector. In 2010, I joined Medsport, a medical retail concept store, where I also managed an Orthotist Prosthetist practice for eight years. While working, I completed a part-time MBA at the UCT Graduate School of Business (2010 - 2011). During this time as practice manager, we launched Ergonomicsdirect - a business focused on improving workplace health and productivity through Ergonomics solutions. In 2018, we rebranded as Ergonomicsdirect, where I now serve as the Managing Director and shareholder. In 2025, we launched an Ergonomics Consulting division under the Ergonomicsdirect umbrella. Built on a strong medical foundation, our multidisciplinary team brings together expertise in ergonomics, biokinetics, physiotherapy, orthotics, and occupational health and safety. Our services include compliance packages, office and industrial ergonomics assessments, medico-legal evaluations, and ergonomics training. Our mission remains clear: to help individuals and organizations create healthier, more comfortable, and more productive workspaces. We’re committed to changing the way people work, one workstation at a time
