About Ping Yao

I love water! As a highly motivated Environmental Scientist, I work on groundwater monitoring and management at Ventia. Before I joined Ventia, I have worked in scientific research organisations for more than 10 years. My research was focusing on the water cycle in the Himalayas, including glaciers, lakes, rivers, and groundwater. I also provided project management services for a number of projects of Environmental Assessment, Climate Change Adaptation, and Sustainable Development. Throughout my career, I have developed the following skills: • Conducting field investigation, especially collecting water and soil samples • Designing and carrying out experiments in laboratories with multi-instruments • Data management and analysis with Microsoft Excel, Access, Esdat, ArcGIS, R and Python • Drafting and writing reports and presentations • Planning and organisational skills for successful project delievery • Active communication and problem-solving skills and attention to details skills Beyond work, I like hiking in the bush with my family. I enjoy the fresh air and the beautiful scenery, and they are also the driving force behind my passion to work in the environmental industry. I am excited to start a new chapter of my career in the Environmental Industry in Australia. I welcome all connections, suggestions, and opportunities!
