I am a committed teacher, coach, analyst and auditor with amazing organizational skills! In my current position, I am responsible for teaching our new employees, using a 40 hour classroom presentation that I developed for our department, with instructions on the fundamentals of patient financial customer service at The University of Vermont Medical Center (UVMMC). Also, while in my current position, I formed an auditing program for our call center to better train our existing and new employees, along with ensuring consistency that helps to build trust with our patients. Using my experience as a Professional Patient Account & Customer Service Representative, along with my professional coding certification, our teaching and auditing programs have proven to be a quantifiable success over the years. I made the transition from retail into healthcare administration shortly after I graduated from the University of Vermont. In the spring of 2007, I began my career at UVMMC as a Pre-Registration Representative, and in a short period of time, I achieved a position at the busy financial Customer Service call center. After a few years in this role, I completed the professional coding coursework and obtained a professional coding certificate and moved into the Professional Revenue Department as a Patient Account Representative, concentrating on Commercial and Medicare insurance billing follow up. With my education, skills, and experience, I propelled into my current role as a Revenue Cycle Systems Educator, where I partner with leadership to develop department processes to educate our staff of the frequently changing healthcare regulations, practices and laws.
