Dr. Pinky Sagar is currently working in the Department of Physics at Khalifa University, in collaboration with the Technology Innovation Institute, Abu Dhabi, UAE. She is deeply engaged in the investigation of novel nano- and microscale materials and their diverse applications. Her research focuses on the synthesis, characterization, and functionalization of advanced nanostructures, including 2D materials, quantum dots, and composites. She is presently working on plasmonic and magnetic materials, aiming to precisely tailor their properties at the nanoscale to address critical challenges in sensing and quantum technologies. In addition, she has a keen interest in superconducting materials, which hold transformative potential in applications such as lossless power transmission, high-field magnets for MRI and particle accelerators, magnetic levitation for high-speed transportation, and ultra-sensitive sensors for quantum and medical diagnostics.
