Seasoned genomic scientist and academic leader with deep expertise in DNA repair, recombination, replication, and eukaryotic genome stability. Innovator in the application of next-generation sequencing (NGS), microarray technologies, and multi-omics approaches to address complex biological questions. Directed the establishment of a custom microarray printing platform and advanced analytical methods for genome rearrangement studies. As Technical Director of a premier High Throughput Sequencing Facility, has spearheaded cutting-edge experimental design, automated library preparation workflows, and integration of novel sequencing technologies (Illumina, Oxford Nanopore, and PacBio). Demonstrated track record of building and managing large-scale research initiatives, including founding the Multi-Omic Consortium at UNC to promote cross-disciplinary collaborations. Current research extends to investigating aging through bat hibernation models, leveraging multi-omic data to uncover unique longevity and stress resistance insights.
