About Piotr Ostas

Computers have been my passion all my life. I have always been especially attracted to software development. My career in IT has begun while I was still attending university and has been progressing ever since. I have moved through various positions, which have equipped me with a complex understanding of modern IT industry. I have started my journey working in a support role and then gradually moved towards ERP systems, which ideally combine my university education with my passion of software development. My first major experience with ERP systems was in the UK, where I worked with systems such as Exchequer, Access Dimensions and Pegasus Opera as a consultant. It was a perfect opportunity to further advance my skills, especially those related to software architecture and database querying, The next stage of my career was closely linked to Comarch ERP XL system, which I now know almost inside-out. Over the years I have been responsible for managing the system (users, permissions and configuration) and developing various bespoke solutions for it, such as SQL reports, work-automating stored procedures and XL Work processes, database triggers and functions, modifying the interface by adding columns, filters, custom buttons and forms. I also had a chance to work with workflow platforms and develop them, including cross-system integrations. With the progression of my career I have continued to develop my skills and focused mainly on business analysis, IT project management and.Net programming. Currently I am improving my knowledge of web technologies, focusing on ASP.NET, Rest API, CSS and JavaScript related tools hoping that the newly acquired skills will give me an opportunity to face new challenges and further develop my career.
