About Piper Bognar

My experiences as a school and district administrator have prepared me for myriad new experiences and positions. I've worked with teachers and students in grades PK-12, creating curriculum and assessments, conducting in-services, and ensuring that students are benefiting from best practices. I've had opportunities to lead long-term efforts that promoted student growth using formative assessment and providing sustained professional development. Working with schools on their Title I Schoolwide Plans and helping to lead a district through State and Federal On-Site Review audits has allowed me to provide proper guidance on allowable use of categorical funds and staffing as fiscal resources diminish. Continually adjusting curriculum to reflect state expectations and alignment documents allows me great perspective on how classroom teachers need to change quickly while keeping the best interests of students at the forefront. My training in Adaptive Schools and Professional Learning Communities allows me to work effectively with diverse groups of educators. Working with a variety of stakeholders and striving to create Cultural Proficiency within a system consistently reminds me why public education is paramount. My passion for literacy instruction and overall student success drives me to continually motivate others in this field.
