About Pouyan Behrouzi

Located in Calgary, Alberta, Pouyan leads the Midstream group for North America for Hatch’s Oil & Gas business. He graduated in 1994 from the University of British Columbia with a Degree in Civil Engineering and, following 10 years of detail design, he progressed to project management and eventually to principal owner prior to integrating the business into Hatch. CAREER HIGHLIGHTS: Pouyan began his career overseas where he designed numerous high-rise projects which developed his technical and leadership skills completing structural designs for complex superstructures. Following 8 years of overseas experience with aggressive, schedule-sensitive projects, Pouyan returned to Canada and continued his leadership development in the Oil & Gas sector of Alberta. He progressed from engineering design to project director executing numerous multi-disciplinary oil facility projects providing hydrocarbon energy producers with engineering packages from conceptual development through to detail design and construction support. As head of Midstream engineering delivery, Pouyan provided senior technical leadership providing solutions to energy objectives using cutting-edge technology solutions integrating engineering analysis, design and drafting software resulting in efficient and value-added project execution. Having been a key executive that successfully led the Midstream group through both economic growth cycles and a protracted downturn, he has effectively led the team to overcome these challenges. Following sale and integration into Hatch, Pouyan now leads the Midstream business for Hatch in North America.
