NCR constitutes 5% of IR RKm and carries 12% of IR traffic. Signalling is back bone of operation on very high density routes - Auto Sigg, IB sigg, EI, CTC etc contribute a lot in efficient traffic operation. TPWS (ETCS- Level 1) has been provided in Nizamuddin-Agra section where Gatiman runs at 160 km. Recently inntroduced Vande Bharat Exp, semi high speed train, covers major portion of its journey on NCR.
