About Prabir Kumar Mitra

Born in India, living in Austria, a true multi-lingual person fluent in English, Bengali, Hindi. With a never-ending urge of learning new things everyday, I am already in the process of learning German. With Bachelor and Masters degrees in Physics, I have competed my Ph.D. in Solar physics where I extensively analysed data from multiple space and ground based solar observatories with a goal to understand the mechanisms responsible for the initiation and evolution of transient phenomena that can potentially cause harmful effects in the near-Earth space. While Physics, Mathematics, Statistics are my obvious strongholds, I possess excellent proficiency in data analysis. I am highly experienced with advanced programming languages like Interactive Data Language (IDL). With the capability of visualising algorithms, I am confident with similar programming languages that include Python, C, Fortran etc with workable concepts on SQL. With an ever curious mind, my favourite time pass includes watching documentaries on various topics such as geo-politics, current business models, linguistics, archeology, geography, astronomy etc. Countries that I have visited (outside India and Austria) are Ethiopia, France, Finland, Georgia, UAE.
