About Prachet Jain
I am an undergraduate at the University of Michigan double majoring in Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Physics. My current research topics include instrumentation for use in space-based formation-flying interferometry, as well as x-ray tomographic reconstructions of multi-phase optically opaque flows. I was a summer 2023 research intern at Brookhaven National Laboratory in New York, where I worked on instrumentation for NASA's LuSEE-Night experiment, which aims to land a radio telescope on the far side of the moon to study the 21-cm Hydrogen line for cosmological observations. I have previous design, build and test experience in liquid rocket fluid systems as well as autonomous drones. I previously lead the cryogenic design of a universal sample containment system for lunar regolith sample collection and retrieval as part of NASA's RASC-AL competition, resulting in a best-in-theme award at RASC-AL's annual forum.
