About Pradeep Sethi

I am currently Medical Director of Plexision, Inc. I have over forty years of clinical, teaching and research experience in different settings in USA and India with many firsts to my credit. I was the first Fellow in GenitoUrinary (GU) and GastroIntestinal (GI) Pathology at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC). I successfully implemented prostate tissue banking at UPMC. I introduced Surgical Pathology and Cytology services in Bareilly, India. My research activities include tissue banking of prostate, development of in-vitro cultures from prostate to study epithelial-stromal cell growth regulation & development of synoptic templates for reporting of GU & GI tract neoplasms. This lead to publications in Modern Pathology and American Journal of Clinical Pathology. I won the 1994 Fifth Annual Pathology Research Presentations, UPMC for the best scientific presentation. I was a Co-Investigator in Pulmonary Hypertension Breakthrough Initiative Project for study of human Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension lung tissue. As an active member of CAP I have served on its Informatics Committee, am a CAP Inspector since 1997 and have performed many inspections. In 2002, I convinced 4 laboratories in India to acquire CAP Accreditation. Today, India is CAP's fastest growing market. I am Board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology with Pennsylvania and Florida licenses, have presented at various national meetings, published articles in peer-reviewed journals and with several invited speaking engagements in USA, India, Singapore & Caribbean. I received my medical degree from the prestigious Armed Forces Medical College. I have two residencies in AP/CP from University of Pune and UPMC, and GU and GI Pathology fellowships from UPMC. I have served on the medical staff of numerous hospitals in Pennsylvania and Florida. My interests include Informatics, Laboratory Accreditation for developing countries, CQI, QA & TQM.
