1.Applied research in fatigue, fatigue crack growth and fracture 2.Guided two Ph.D programs on fatigue crack growth, crack closure and short crack behavior 3.Developed fatigue life to crack initiation model based on local stress-strain approach 4.Developed fatigue crack growth life prediction model based on effective stress intensity factor range using crack closure concepts 5.Carried out fatigue life evaluation of LCA fin to fuselage fitting 6.As project leader of HANSA executed all structural certification testing of HANSA from coupon level to full component level. Developed the building block approach for HANSA structural certification testing 7.Project leader of SARAS, I was in-charge of structural test on wing, fuselage and H.T. Also in charge of fatigue and damage tolerance evaluation of SARAS airframe. Developed the full scale static test set up for SARAS fuselage and wing 8.Participated in full scale fatigue testing of Ajeet and MiG 21 M airframe 9.Project leader for the MiG-21 BIS airframe. Developed the test load spectrum for the test load spectrum for the airframe. Designed and developed the whiffle tree loading arrangements for the FSFT. Guided the in-house development of full scale fatigue test control hardware and software. Interpreted the FSFT results. As Head of Structural Integrity Division I have: 1)Developed a rational full scale fatigue test concept 2)Guided a group to develop fatigue element models of airframe considering it as a multi-layer discretely connected multiple load path structure.
