About Pragnesh Thaker

As a PhD scholar with nearly seven years of research experience at the National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK), I am focused on advancing the field of deep learning. My work specializes in optimizing convolutional neural networks (CNNs) through innovative pruning techniques, which aim to enhance computational efficiency while maintaining model accuracy. This research has significant implications for real-world applications, particularly in resource-constrained environments. At NITK, I have contributed to multiple published works in highly regarded journals, addressing challenges in model compression and proposing novel regularization losses and distance metrics. My mission is to bridge the gap between theoretical advancements and the practical deployment of deep learning models. Driven by a passion for algorithmic development, I collaborate with peers to create impactful solutions that push the boundaries of neural network optimization.
