Currently looking after crop solutions of Sumitomo Chemicals (a Japanese MNC ) in Asia,Australia & NZ. Proven track record of transformational change in organizations in different cultures & business-models- in turnaround situations, in mergers & integrations as well as in positioning for growth. e.g.Seminis/Monsanto & Nuchemi/Sumitomo integrations,establishing Sinochem India, acquisition of Excel Crop(3rd largest listed Indian agro-chemicals player) & turn- around of Sumitomo Chemicals in India. Recognized for the ability to build strong teams,growth strategies & scaling up the businesses. Career :Joined Monsanto in 1996 & varied experience of the past (FMCG,Consumer Electronics) helped in getting noticed at an early stage,became one of the first recipients of the Global Master Sales Man award in the very 1st year. With a personal habit of never-say-enough blended with a keen biz sense,growth was easy to come & was assigned to various roles at different levels. With right mix of team & belief in new ideas,got exceptional results in all the assignments & received all the possible awards. Was involved in stake-sales of leading agro-chemical brands & was an internal leadership-trainer too. Shifted to Sinochem (a Chinese MNC ) in 2008 with twin goals:(a) to get an experience of setting up a new venture (b) to understand Chinese way of mgmt & thus the reasons for China's exponential growth. Joined Sumitomo in 2011 to help it to make a mark in India. Achieved the turnaround (>30% growth/annum in last 7 years with an old products-portfolio by building a team with right mix of skills-sets along-with few strategic changes.Grew business from US $ 5 million to US$ 160 million in 8 years and added other business of US$ 190 million by acquisition.
