I enjoy working with anything that can compute objectively, whether carbon or silicon-based. Tend not to be constrained by lines and will look for solutions outside the circle. I like to get my hands dirty while remaining conscious of how my work maps to the big picture, placing the goal and the team above myself. The best way to get me to do something is to tell me that it's not possible. I learn. I've worked in large organizations long enough to be conscious of Conway's law and how incentives determine outcomes. The best teams are open and well balanced, people matter most. The best code is neat and elegant, language matters less. Humour is greatly underrated. My favourite achievement in my last role is bringing engineers just a little bit closer. My favourite achievement in my last assignment is a 85% product performance improvement (though the 700% improvement in one edge case makes for a more eye-catching headline). I've spoken C well, C++ tolerably, shell (bash/sed/awk) comfortably, python barely, assembly (RO), and the following in various past lives - JS, Java, lua and of course. BASIC;) Mostly I just enjoy coming up with neat/elegant solutions and consider myself language agnostic.
