About Prarthna Kedia

With over 10 years of mixed experience in in-house and law firm settings, I am a seasoned legal counsel who specializes in commercial and technology contracts and transactions. I am admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and registered as a corporate counsel with the State Bar of Virginia. I hold an LL.M. degree from the prestigious University of California, Berkeley School of Law, where I received a competitive scholarship for my academic excellence. Currently, I work as a legal counsel at Giesecke+Devrient (G+D), a global leader in security technology and smart solutions. At G+D, I review and negotiate a wide range of agreements, such as software licenses, service contracts, confidentiality agreements, and distribution deals, while providing advice to cross-functional internal teams on various legal and business issues. I also leverage my international experience and knowledge of different legal systems, having worked in-house with two global IT companies in the USA and Asia Pacific regions, and as a legal consultant at a full-service law firm in Washington D.C. and an associate at a corporate litigation law firm in India. Additionally, I have a keen interest in diverse legal topics, such as intellectual property, human rights, and whistleblower protection, and have written and presented papers at various international forums. My mission is to understand the business aspects of the law and to have a practical and business-like approach when dealing with clients and businesses alike.
