A digital media expert and sports industry veteran, Prasad Malmandi has a successful track record of managing businesses with hands-on experience in building products, leading technology & product teams that developed high-traffic services, managing large-scale global initiatives, and executing strategic distribution deals in the ever evolving mobile landscape. Prasad has a very unique and rare experience of consistently working in start-up environments within a global organization and constantly being challenged to deliver in cost-efficient and timely order. He has had the fortune of building products for US and International markets providing invaluable exposure to various challenges and solutions. He joined ESPN in 2004 to code when mobile was still in its infancy and subsequently led teams that developed products on Brew, Java, Blackberry, iOS and Android platforms. When advanced distribution channels were launched by the likes of Apple, Google & Amazon, he joined the newly formed Mobile Distribution & Partnerships team to explore and establish business partnerships for ESPN, utilizing his technical knowledge gained over the years. In April 2013, Prasad identified and presented, to the executive management team at ESPN, opportunities with the growing popularity of cricket in the United States and since June 2013 he leads and drives the cricket business in ESPN’s 2nd biggest cricket market, focusing on revenue growth and long-term product & content strategies. Prasad graduated as an Electronics and Communication engineer and holds a Masters degree in Sports Management from Columbia University. His desire to keep pace with technology and his childhood wish to work for a sports company became true when he accepted the mobile software programmer job at ESPN. Having grown up as cricket fan and with rich professional experience in different product, technology and business roles, he now has a dream job of serving sports fans in the U.S.
