About Prasanthi Ilankoon

As a Nursing Educator, I taught and mentored nursing students in various clinical and theoretical courses. This role allowed me to build a strong foundation in nursing education, where I developed and delivered curricula, supervised research projects, and played an active role in shaping future healthcare professionals. As I transitioned into public health, I applied my teaching experience to develop evidence-based health promotion interventions and programs aimed at improving public well-being and addressing critical health disparities. My academic work, including my Master of Public Health (MPH) studies, has further equipped me with the tools to analyze complex health data and design programs that foster sustainable, equitable solutions for diverse populations. I have contributed to various research projects in nursing education, women's health, and global health, resulting in publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at both local and international conferences. My work explores the intersection of health systems, policy, and community-based health interventions, focusing on creating positive, real-world impacts on public health. While my focus has expanded into public health, I remain deeply committed to the field of nursing education. I am enthusiastic about the opportunity to engage in a nursing educator role once again, where I can share my expertise, mentor students, and contribute to the development of future nurses. I am eager to bring my interdisciplinary knowledge to both the classroom and the clinical setting, inspiring the next generation of healthcare leaders. As I continue my academic journey, I am excited to collaborate with multidisciplinary research teams to advance public health knowledge and improve health outcomes.
