About Prashant Hegde

I started my career as a machine tool design engineer but fell in love with coding when I developed custom AutoLISP library for AutoCAD. This led me to pursue a career in software development. Since then I have been working in the software industry from startups to big companies in various roles building tools & applications, client-server based distributed systems, automation frameworks, SOAP and RESTful web services/microservices, Docker container based services and private/public cloud products using C++, Java and Python. Even though I stayed away from managing people directly, I have lead the development teams, mentored and motivated the junior developers. I like to take responsibility and ownership of what I have been working on and make strategic decisions. In my opinion, a strong & dynamic leadership with candid communication will pave the way to success. I spend my free time with my family and also learning new technologies & concepts such as AI & Deep Learning, Internet of Things, Robotics and more of cloud technologies. I would prefer to work on cutting edge product/service architecture or own/manage a product & the team. I am an analytical minded, results oriented person and believe that with self confidence, determination and hard work, any task can be achieved.
